  6. CAVEAT:    This version is freeware.  
  7. It is fully functional with the venerable old CP290.
  8.  
  9. Note that although this is intended to be a DEMO,
  10. it is fully functional with the CP290 
  11. with the following exception :
  12.  
  13. XTension WILL NOT DOWNLOAD to the CP290.
  14. You MUST keep the Macintosh running 
  15. in order for XTension to function.
  16.  
  17. The only support for this version is via the XTension Discussion list.
  18. There are hundreds of avid and experienced XTension users who
  19. can offer great advice!  see:  http://www.shed.com/maillist.html

  21. IF you have questions as to why you need to buy the commercial
  22. version which works with 'two-way' X-10 interfaces, please check
  23. out the website : www.shed.com

  25. Installation :

  27. Just move the XTension folder onto your hard disk.
  28.  
  29. This should create a folder on your disk called XTension...
  30.  
  31. You should be able to double click the XTension icon, and the DEMO will start up.
  32.  
  33. If you do not have some system resource that XTension requires, 
  34. it will tell you so on startup....watch the messages on startup.
  35.  
  36. AppleScript is occasionally not installed on your Mac, 
  37. so we have included it as a self-extracting archive which you 
  38. will find in the "Put these in Extensions Folder".
  39.  
  40. PLEASE take time to look at the manual which is included in this package.

  42. You will be able to build systems with this version which you can directly 
  43. import into any commercial version of XTension.
